In depth

Verdict

Keith Dalgleish doesn't have many runners in Ireland so the presence of Catterick maiden winner Ce La Vie in this Group 3 is interesting. Flying Fairies ended the last campaign with an easy victory on ground with some give at Leopardstown so she's respected as is Mick Channon's Czabo, three times a winner including a Listed success on soft ground at Deauville. Cirin Toinne couldn't add to her debut victory at Leopardstown but obviously goes well fresh and Kevin Manning rides her rather than Legitimus, who wasn't disgraced at this level after her easy maiden victory. Queen Anne's Lace made a successful start on soft ground at Gowran and will be expected to pay her way this season but SOMEHOW (NAP) is the one they all have to beat. Aidan O'Brien's filly reappeared with two victories last season, and, after racing in Group 1 company, ended the campaign with a facile victory in a Group 3 at the Curragh.
