In depth

Verdict

John Gosden has won three of the last four with TURGENEV preferred to stablemate Waldstern in this year’s renewal. The former found life tough in the former Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October though still finished ahead of both Dashing Willoughby and King Ottokar and has entries in the Dante and Derby along with Space Blues. The latter represents last year’s winning yard having made a successful debut at Nottingham in November while Irish Derby entry Stormwave made a winning start at Salisbury and is preferred to Power Of States, Kaloor and 2000 Guineas entry Headman. Floating Artist is weighted to go close and will appreciate the soft going with Ryan Moore’s presence another positive.
