Verdict

BABA GHANOUJ went close back over a mile at Newmarket last month and Ed Walker’s filly would not be winning out of turn here. Gin Palace has won at Brighton and Windsor this year and never seems to run a bad race but last month’s course and distance winner Canal Rocks was disappointing when favourite at Bath. Of the older horses, Daddy's Daughter and Marshal Dan may be better over 7f but Jackpot Royale is respected as he continues to slip down the handicap. Medieval runs here rather than at Newmarket but has proved hard to place.
