In depth

Sir Michael Stoute has won this twice in recent years and will be hoping for a big run from the lightly-raced Fiorente, a maiden winner here last May then placed in Group 2 and 3 company in the summer. Harris Tweed's best run last year was when a head behind Drunken Sailor in a Goodwood Group 3 in July but he was 3l behind Modun in a Polytrack Group 3 at Kempton in September and the winner has the advantage of a decent run at Meydan last month. It was good to see ARCTIC COSMOS back on song at Kempton last month where he made all for a very easy Listed race success. The 2010 St Leger hero was having just his third run since his classic victory and can take this before heading for the big middle-distance races this season. Eye Of The Tiger once beat the classy Getaway on soft ground in Germany so watch the betting for this one.

Allied Powers (IRE) 9-1 (8-13) In rear, ridden over 2f out, never a factor, 8th of 9, 9l behind Ley Hunter (8-13) at Longchamp(FR) 1m 7f Grp 3 (1) gd in Sep.

Arctic Cosmos (USA) 5-4fav (8-13) Led after 1f, quickened over 2f out, soon in command, pushed out, comfortable, won at Kempton 1m 2f Listed stks (1) pol in Mar beating Tinshu (8-11) by 6l, 6 ran.

Bridge Of Gold (USA) 8-1 (8-12) Tracked leaders, switched right to challenge over 1f out, stayed on strongly inside final furlong, just held, 2nd of 7, hd behind Indian Days (9-3) at Newbury 1m 4f Grp 3 (1) gf in Apr '11.

Eye Of The Tiger (GER) 7-4fav (9-4) 3rd of 8, 6l behind Tres Rock Danon (8-11) at Krefeld(GER) 2m Grp 3 (1) gd in May '10.

Harris Tweed 15-8fav (9-4) Led, set steady pace, quickened over 4f out, hard driven 3f out, headed approaching final furlong, faded, 3rd of 7, 3 1/2l behind Modun (9-4) at Kempton 1m 4f Group 3 stks (3yo+) (1) pol in Sep.

Modun (IRE) 8-1 (9-4) 4th of 12, 6l behind Fox Hunt (9-4) at Meydan(UAE) 1m 6f Grp 3 (1) gd in Mar.

Fiorente (IRE) 11-10fav (9-0) Tracked leaders, ridden to challenge inside final 2f, edged right and led inside final furlong, headed close home, 2nd of 10, nk behind Namibian (9-3) at Goodwood 1m 4f 3yo Grp 3 (1) gd in Jul.
