Spirit Of Appin finished ahead of Love So Deep and Blue Gardenia in this grade over track and trip a fortnight ago. But he was still beaten five lengths by the three-year-old winner and SHAMBOLIC may prove too good on these terms. The latter failed to threaten in the Group 2 Ribblesdale at Ascot last time though only faded at the furlong marker and John Gosden’s filly looks worth another chance down in class today. Bella Vita has progressed nicely in handicaps and is worth a try at this level but Crystal Moonlight has found life difficult in Listed company so far this year. Incredulous and Vampish have plenty to find at the weights.
