Verdict

TURGENEV looked certain to complete a five-timer for Frankie when shooting clear in the Britannia Handicap at Ascot only to be reeled in by Biometric, who was receiving 10lb. He's up to this grade as he showed in the Blue Riband Trial at Epsom when beaten just over a length and should be good enough for this. Momkin was beaten a neck in a Group 3 on the Rowley Course before a fair run in the 2000 Guineas then got an unlucky run in the Jersey Stakes so he has to be a major threat but Urban Icon looks the one to take from the Ascot Group 3 as he suffered interference in-running or would have finished much closer. Duke Of Hazzard also ran in that race and led over 1f out before fading. Richard Hannon also runs Motafaawit, who was well behind the selection at Ascot and has done better over shorter.
