Verdict

Marie's Diamond won this in 2019 and Brunch was successful a year ago. The latter has much the better chance this time despite not having scored subsequently as he'll enjoy the conditions more than most. This hasn't been a good race for three-year-olds but Alflaila's second behind Mighty Ulysees in a Newmarket Listed contest was a very good effort though he's taking on older horses for the first time. Astro King deserves a crack at this level after an excellent run in the Royal Hunt Cup, with Magical Morning well beaten, but Godolphin have a very strong hand. MODERN NEWS has a penalty for a Listed success at Windsor but may prove just too strong for Dubai Icon, who scrambled home in a handicap on the same track last month.
