In depth

Verdict

Dark Optimist didn't get home in a much better race over 6f at Newbury last week and is better judged on his close third here earlier this month when he had Goodwood Rebel, who was in need of the run, behind. Born To Destroy attracted support on his debut here last week but couldn't quite quicken and he'll be better for the experience. The filly PARTRIDGE cost a whopping €150,000 as a yearling and is the second foal of a mare who produced a two-year-old winner with her first offspring to race. She should be speedy and gets the nod to make a successful debut.
