Verdict

Ben Akram reversed Newcastle running with Dingo Bay when scoring at Musselburgh last time but may find this a bit more competitive and is 5lb higher. Presenting Junior hasn't raced since falling at Carlisle in October but the good ground is in his favour while Indigo Island should have learned plenty from his third at Catterick. SAMTHEMAN ran his best race so far over fences when second to Solway Dornal, who runs in the opener, over track and trip last time. He should go close off the same mark in this as neither of John Wade's pair, Roseville Cottage and Runswick Days, have shown much to date.
