In depth

Verdict

Confidence behind Way Back When would be encouraging but there are concerns about how far forward some of the yard's horses are after the snow so a safer option is BE MY LIGHT who gets the nod over Tiffany Jones et al. Charlie Longsdon's filly steps up in trip following an encouraging debut in a junior bumper at Newbury. The first two home failed to give the form a boost in a Listed event at Cheltenham on their next starts but it appeared to be a fair enough race and Be My Light is bred to appreciate a trip. Way Back When hails from a yard that gets plenty of winners in this sphere and she's a half-sister to the useful Roulez Cool so looks the part on paper. Fleet Footed also has an illustrious relative in Lough Derg and she's just one of four runners from Chris Down's yard with Some Secret looking the pick on the evidence of her run at Hereford. Tiffany Jones beat all bar a Henderson hotpot at Huntingdon despite racing too keenly; the third upheld the form when filling the same position at Southwell in the week. Love Love Me Do may be more at home here than she was at Lingfield but Mizzurka has shown more in three starts and deserved her win at Newbury. Her penalty makes life tougher though and preference is for Be My Light.
