In depth

Verdict

RACKHAM LEROUGE, a half-brother to the high-class Punchestowns, completed a hat-trick in bumper events in the French Provinces and landed a novices' hurdle for Nicky Henderson at Bangor in February. He made a highly commendable debut over fences in a very strong race at Plumpton last month won by Medermit from Tullamore Dew and looks one to follow this season. Lord Villez won his last two races over timber in March but has yet to take to the bigger obstacles while King Ozzy has a mountain to climb with the selection on a line through Tullamore Dew, who beat him a distance at Plumpton. Raspbary will need mishaps by his rivals to get involved.
