Standing Ovation's runs this year have been at the Cheltenham Festival when a good sixth in the Kim Muir and when falling in the Topham at the Grand National meeting. He's talented at his best and still has plenty of time on his hands at the age of eight. He'll go off at a good price but presumably this run over timber is a preparatory one for his return to fences. Minnie Milan's surge of winning form sees her head the weights but she's essential shortlist material such is the rapidity of her improvement. Wait A Second looks the obvious improver on his fifth start over timber without looking that well treated whereas SOLWAY PRINCE makes considerable appeal from the foot of the weights. He's improved with his racing throughout the season and forged away to score here last time when showing a good attitude to his work. He clearly stays well and will not be inconvenienced should the rains descend on Staffordshire.
