In depth

Verdict

JALLOTA is a genuine Group-class performer and carries a 3lb penalty for his victory at this level at Chantilly in September though ran very well in a higher grade subsequently. He had Mitchum Swagger and Kool Kompany behind on his reappearance in the Group 2 bet365 Mile at Sandown though the former stayed on nicely from the rear and the latter, who had previously won the Doncaster Mile, didn't run up to expectations. The form should be confirmed though Firmament looks a threat as he started last season on a mark of 85 and is now on 109 thanks to three victories including a Class 2 handicap at York. He ran very well on his first crack at this level at Ascot earlier this month and should get competitive.
