Sandhurst and Black Beauty should run their races again but we'll opt for LEAC AN SCAIL. Sue Smith's charge has finished third on two of his three starts over fences but is fancied to step up on that form now that he's stepped up in trip. He appears to be versatile with regard to underfoot conditions and has been a relatively consistent performer. Black Beauty has finished runner-up on all three chase starts and is with a yard that should do well with him but it remains to be seen whether this marked step up in trip is the answer. Sandhurst has shown a fair level of form but has been frustrating to follow over a variety of trips; this distance appears to be his optimum and he has every chance. Pacha D'Oudairies finished well held on his chase bow but the winner went on to prove himself to be a fair sort and the experience won't have been lost on the Nicholls runner. He was a useful hurdler who should pay his way in this sphere. Shannon Springs and Raslan are others to bear in mind but Leac An Scail rates the pick.
