Verdict

Tom Scudamore: "I always felt confident but was wary that they can stop quickly in this ground and they went a good gallop. It was just a case of keeping the momentum as I knew Emma Baker's horse could finish well. As it turned out, the combination of hood and blinkers worked and he's turned things around. He was a bit of a boy, but he's turning into a man now."

Bryan Drew: "He had a rough start in his first bumper and it seemed to knock the stuffing out of him. He wasn't enjoying his racing, but he likes this deep ground. He travelled so well but he has had to work hard. I wondered whether he would ever win a race. He didn't seem to enjoy racing, but he enjoyed it today, loved that ground and stayed well. You would have to think he would jump a fence in time."
