Verdict

Ed Vaughan: "It was his first run of the season and I thought he would be quite fresh, so that is why I put the cheekpieces on. Fortunately he was drawn well, so he was always going to be handy. It has worked out very well. Our horses had not been in form as we had a bit of a bug in the yard and these are the first two serious turf runners, so I am delighted with that. He would probably be better with a little bit of ease in the ground and as he is a good striding horse a flat track like Newbury would probably suit him better."
