Verdict

George Baker: "Gary has done a great job of getting him back to his best this season. When I rode him at Newbury, I told Gary that I felt he would be better when having horses to aim at and you always know in these races that there is plenty of pace, so you hope they come back at you. He was slowly away, but he isn't the fastest away these days and we just managed to bide our time. It is lovely ground for him and the pace helped him. It's nice when it goes right."
