Danny Houghton and Scott Taylor are both facing spells on the sidelines following Hull FC's loss to Wigan in Australia.
Hull say new skipper Houghton, who left the field after 28 minutes of the 24-10 defeat with a torn calf, is expected to be out of action for two months, while vice-captain Taylor is in hospital after undergoing appendix surgery.
"Scott's situation was obviously leftfield but everything has gone to plan and we'll get him back into camp as soon as possible," said Hull coach Lee Radford.
"Everyone is sending him our best wishes."
Taylor, who complained of stomach cramps before kick-off, said on Instagram: "Well it's been a crazy last few days and still recovering in hospital after surgery."
Prop Liam Watts [hamstring] and second rower Mark Minichiello [ankle] also left the field during Saturday's match and are doubtful for Saturday's game with St George Illawarra at ANZ Stadium, live on Sky Sports Arena.
However, Hull are hopeful winger Bureta Faraimo and centres Jake Connor and Josh Griffin will be fit to face the Dragons while Carlos Tuimavave and Chris Green are set to play their first game of the season.
Radford said: "Injuries are part and parcel of the game and they give an opportunity for some of our young blokes to come into the side and stake a claim.
"We've brought these boys over to play so they'll get their chance and we're looking forward to getting the other lads back as soon as possible."
