Webster handed New Zealand role

New Hull KR signing Jake Webster has been called up to the New Zealand squad for their tour of Britain. Webster - who signed for Rovers from NRL outfit Gold Coast Titans this summer - has been drafted in to the Kiwi's initial train-on squad by new coach Gary Kemble. The squad, which is devised of players whose clubs have been eliminated from the play-offs, includes Roy Asotasi, who captained the Kiwis in this year's Anzac Test against Australia. Coach Kemple has chosen his 18-man squad for their up-coming fixtures and is happy with his selection so far. He said: "The players included in the squad so far will be given training schedules next week. We'll have a group of players from clubs based around Sydney training together and another group in Queensland of players from Brisbane and Gold Coast." The Kiwis will play Australia in the Centenary Test in Wellington on October 14 before taking part in a three-Test series against Great Britain on October 27, November 3 and 10 and a one-off Test with France in Paris on November 17. The train-on squad for the games is: Roy Asotasi (South Sydney), Rangi Chase (St George Illawarra), Luke Covell (Cronulla), Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Sydney Roosters), Greg Eastwood (Brisbane), Dene Halatau (Wests Tigers), Bronson Harrison (Wests Tigers), David Kidwell (South Sydney), Issac Luke (South Sydney), Sam Perrett (Sydney Roosters), Frank Pritchard (Penrith), Jeremy Smith (South Sydney), Chase Stanley (St George Illawarra), Ben Te'o (Wests Tigers), Taniela Tuiaki (Wests Tigers), Cooper Vuna (Newcastle), Jake Webster (Gold Coast), Paul Whatuira (Wests Tigers)
