Saracens scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth been recalled by England after a two-year absence.

Wigglesworth has been selected by Eddie Jones for the first time, and is part of the training squad which assembled at Pennyhill Park on Sunday ahead of next weekend's non-cap international against the Barbarians at Twickenham.

"It's an opportunity to have a look at him and that's what the Barbarians game is for," said Jones.

"He's always been a good player, and I think he's been playing a little bit better. With Ben Youngs away it's an opportunity to have a look at him.

"He's got the ability to be a contributor to the England side at the moment, and that's what I'm looking at. It's definitely a chance for him to state his case."

Saracens' 18-16 Aviva Premiership semi-final defeat at Exeter has also freed up Wigglesworth's club team-mates Alex Lozowski, Nick Isiekwe and Nathan Earle who join the 33-year-old in England's squad.

Ospreys' Bath-bound flanker Sam Underhill could also make his England bow against the Barbarians, after the Welsh region crashed out of the Guinness PRO12 at the semi-final stage.

Sale Sharks in-form Denny Solomona, who received his first call-up in April, is doubtful for the tour due to a foot injury.

"He's got a mid-foot strain. It puts him in doubt [for Argentina), added Jones. "He's going to see a specialist and we'll know definitely then. We're not hopeful, we believe it'll be pretty doubtful that he goes on tour."

England have named 29 players in their training squad, with 20 of those uncapped.

Jones will need a new captain for the game against the BaaBaas with Dylan Hartley in action in Northampton's Champions Cup play-off on Friday night.

But Argentina tour squad vice-captains Mike Brown, Danny Care and George Ford are all included in the squad and head coach Jones is expected to hand one of that trio the armband.
