McLoughlin, Mitchell, O'Meara and Coleman bid for Albion deals

Plymouth Albion director of rugby Graham Dawe has handed trials to a number of players ahead of the Championship campaign. Centres Fionn McLoughlin and Cameron Mitchell, hooker Gavin O'Meara and winger John Coleman are all being put through their paces at Brickfields. McLoughlin, the son of former British & Irish Lions prop Garry, arrives from Shannon, having previously turned out for Munster, Connacht, Caerphilly, Pontypridd and Bedwas, while Mitchell was with Birmingham & Solihull last season. Albion are desperate to strengthen the midfield after Matt Hopper and Geoff Griffiths left the club to join the Cornish Pirates and Esher respectively. Former Ireland Under-21s hooker O'Meara, 24, arrives from London Welsh after previously spending six years at Leinster, while Irish RL international Coleman is keen on a return to union after injuries hampered his time in the 13-a-side code with Sheffield Eagles.
