Medard switches to full-back; Traille left out of 22-man squad
Marc Lievremont has opted to stick with Morgan Parra at fly-half for France's final Pool A fixture against Tonga on Saturday. Parra, normally a scrum-half, started at No.10 for Les Bleus in the 37-17 defeat at the hands of New Zealand at Eden Park last weekend. Francois Trinh-Duc came off the bench to take over in the role and although he scored a try, the Montpellier playmaker is again named as a replacement. "Francois is lucky enough to be in the squad, there are others who aren't," Lievremont said. "I want him to carry on showing his investment, and, if he comes on, to show the same attitude he did against the All Blacks." Lievremont has opted not to tinker too much with the line-up that began the game against the tournament hosts. There is a change at full-back, however, as Maxime Medard switches to 15 in place of Damien Traille, who is dropped from the matchday squad completely. Alexis Palisson comes in on the left wing to make his first appearance in the World Cup having been troubled by a lower back injury in recent weeks. Hooker William Servat also returns at the expense of Dimitri Szarzewski while Raphael Lakafia is preferred to Louis Picamoles at number eight. France: 15 Maxime Medard, 14 Vincent Clerc, 13 Aurelien Rougerie, 12 Maxime Mermoz, 11 Alexis Palisson, 10 Morgan Parra, 9 Dimitri Yachvili, 8 Raphael Lakafia, 7 Julien Bonnaire, 6 Thierry Dusautoir (c), 5 Lionel Nallet, 4 Pascal Pape, 3 Luc Ducalcon, 2 William Servat, 1 Jean-Baptiste Poux.Replacements: 16 Dimitri Szarzewski, 17 Fabien Barcella, 18 Julien Pierre, 19 Imanol Harinordoquy, 20 Francois Trinh-Duc, 21 Fabrice Estebanez, 22 Cedric Heymans.
