Elina Svitolina dominated the Tie Break Tens in New York on Monday night, winning 17 straight points during victories over Venus Williams and CoCo Vandeweghe before defeating China's Zhang Shuai 10-3 to win $250,000.
The Williams sisters were the headline act at the eight-woman event at the iconic Madison Square Garden.
Serena was playing singles for the first time this year as she prepares to return to the WTA Tour for the first time since giving birth to her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr, in September.
The former world No 1 won her first match against former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, but the multiple Grand Slam winner met her match in Zhang in the semi-finals, as the Chinese star came through 13-11.
The winner of two tournaments already this year, Svitolina, won the last seven points against Venus to win 10-3, before crushing Vandeweghe 10-0 and then powered to victory in the final against Zhang 10-3.
Svitolina took home a 250,000 US dollar (£181,000) prize for her night's work.
You can watch a repeat of Tie Break Tens on Sky Sports Action on Tuesday from 7pm on Sky Sports Action & Sky Sports Mix.
