Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan has undergone a medical at Sheffield United on Tuesday night ahead of a loan move, Sky Sports News understands.
Villa are willing to let Hogan leave on loan before Thursday's transfer deadline, with Bristol City also interested in the striker.
He joined Villa from Brentford in the mid-season window two years ago for a fee of £9m - potentially rising to £12m.
But the Republic of Ireland international scored just six times in 37 games during the 2017-18 Sky Bet Championship season.
The 26-year old has since fallen out of favour at Villa Park, and has yet to score this season having been reduced to just six league appearances off the bench.
His only start came in the FA Cup defeat to Swansea earlier this month.
