Monaco GP and Indy 500: How 'Super Sunday' is still taking place

On what should have been a 'Super Sunday' of motorsport, Sky Sports F1 are airing two shows with a difference on two of the world's greatest and biggest racing events.

F1's Monaco GP and the Indy 500 should have been taking place within hours of each other on Sunday, before the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

So while the Monaco race will not take place at all this year, and the Indy 500 has been pushed back to September, you can still get a flavour of the events on Sunday on Sky F1.

First up, it's the Virtual GP which starts at 6pm. And you can also watch, or catch up, on our digital platforms.

The Virtual GP is followed at 8pm by Indy 500 Special: Back Home Again as our colleagues from NBC produce a retelling of last year's Brickyard race won by Simon Pagenaud in an IndyCar-style Watchalong.

The two shows cap a week of fresh content on Sky F1.

Your week started on Monday night with the 'Best of Sky F1 in Monaco' show as we took a look at some of our most memorable features from F1's most glamorous event from over the years.

In what would've been Monaco GP week, Sky F1's Natalie Pinkham takes a comprehensive look back at some of the best features filmed in the Principality.

Ted Kravitz was then back - on TV and digital - for The Notebook on Tuesday as the Sky F1 reporter rounded up all the latest news in the sport, with the recent transfer moves still at the centre of discussion.

In the latest instalment of The Notebook during F1’s factory shutdown period, Ted Kravitz anticipates a big week in the sport, provides insight on plans to get the season up and running

On Wednesday, it was time for a 'Hectic Hockenheim' show. Max Verstappen and Christian Horner joined Martin Brundle and commentator David Croft for a brilliant look-back at the crazy - and wet - 2019 German GP, which featured several changes of the lead, a lot of crashes, and Max on top of the podium.

We then headed towards the weekend in style with a Sky F1 Quiz Night - hosted by Crofty and featuring our pundits and McLaren driver Lando Norris - on Thursday, before the F1 Show: Monaco Memories on Friday night as the Sky F1 team selected their favourite moments.

Lewis Hamilton's Secret Cinema - Magic of Monaco was then on Saturday night as Lewis watched classic Monaco moments, featuring Graham Hill and Ayrton Senna, and relives some of his own epic wins in a programme which is not to be missed.
