A WWE title changed hands on Raw as 19 SmackDown superstars were drafted to the red brand.
Jinder Mahal was one of the blue brand competitors reassigned to Monday night duty, and at his first Raw event he dropped the United States title to Jeff Hardy.
Mahal was the first wrestler to make the switch on a night of huge change to the Raw roster, with Kurt Angle insisting he make an immediate defence of the championship he won just eight days earlier at WrestleMania.
Hardy answered the challenge and overpowered the Modern-Day Maharajah with a Senton Bomb to become the latest Grand Slam champion, although he will face Mahal in a rematch at the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27.
The Miz heading to SmackDown
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn appeared on Miz TV, where they announced Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon had overruled Kurt Angle and offered both of them Raw contracts.
Angle, however, had a surprise in store for Miz when he confirmed he had agreed with new SmackDown general manager Paige to send him to the blue brand - without his Miztourage.
Miz did not leave in a blaze of glory either, as his 10-man match alongside Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas, Zayn and Owens ended in defeat.
The star-studded team of Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman - with new arrival Bobby Roode - prevailed, with the Monster Among Men disposing of The Miz.
Riott Squad attack Bayley and Banks
Four SmackDown women's competitors made the switch to Raw with Natalya being joined by the Riott Squad, who confirmed their arrival with a bang by interrupting the grudge match between Sasha Banks and Bayley.
The two former best friends were going toe-to-toe and Bayley found herself in a Banks Statement when Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan hit the ring and attacked both of them, leading to a no contest.
McIntyre returns to Raw
Scottish superstar Drew McIntyre is back on the main roster and has been paired with another wrestler making a switch from Tuesdays to Mondays, Dolph Ziggler.
Ziggler had been offered the chance to join Titus Worldwide but McIntyre emerged from the crowd and the duo handed a beating to O'Neill and Apollo Crews.
Crews got the worst of it, finding himself on the receiving end of a vicious-looking combination of McIntyre's Claymore Kick and Ziggler's Zig Zag finishers.
WWE Monday Night Raw is repeated in full every Tuesday at 9pm on Sky Sports Arena HD.
