Dereck Chisora has voiced his support for Tyson Fury and hopes the former world heavyweight champion can make a swift recovery.
Fury was due to defend his WBA 'super' and WBO titles against Wladimir Klitschko this Saturday at the Manchester Arena but the fight dramatically fell through last month after the champion reportedly failed a drug test.
The 28-year-old has since vacated both titles and his future in the sport remains unclear after the British Boxing Board of Control suspended his licence pending a further investigation into "anti-doping and medical issues."
Fury twice defeated Chisora during a 25-fight unbeaten career but 'Del Boy' is full of respect for his conqueror and hopes he will quickly overcome his problems outside the ring.
"You have to always take your hat off to Tyson Fury," Chisora told Sky Sports.
"I personally believe he will be back in February. I speak to Tyson on Twitter. I send him private messages, saying 'Hi, how are you? Let me know if you're okay,' and stuff like that.
"After you've finished fighting, you just look at it and say that was a great fight.
"He's hanging out with his wife and kids. He'll be back."
Fury enjoyed just a brief spell as champion after ending Klitschko's 11-year reign with a stunning points win over the Ukrainian in Germany but Chisora believes the Mancunian, nicknamed 'The Gypsy King', has already earned his place alongside the boxing greats in history.
He said: "Love him or hate him, the Gypsy King, if we talk about Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, people like that - you have to put his name in there.
"It doesn't matter how he won the title, he came back as the undisputed heavyweight champion. The last person like that was Lennox Lewis."
