Shakur Stevenson produced an impressive performance as he outpointed David Paz at the Pinnacle Bank Arena, Lincoln.
The outstanding amateur star, an Olympic silver medallist, made it three wins from three in the paid ranks after clinically outworking his Argentinian opponent throughout the six-round contest.
The popular Newark fighter used the first round to find his range and rhythm, working behind a southpaw stance to land some swift combinations.
It was evident that Stevenson was a clear level above as he regularly used his footwork to catch Paz on the way in while keeping out of range of any danger.
The fourth round saw Stevenson up his work-rate, quickly launching heavy combinations to both the head and body, a right uppercut landing flush on the chin of Paz.
In the fifth, the 20-year-old dropped the gutsy Argentinian with a left hand, but Paz returned to his feet and fought on to hear the final bell.
Elsewhere on the card, heavyweight Bryant Jennings returned to winning ways with a second round stoppage win over fellow American Daniel Martz.
The Philadelphia native had not fought for almost two years following back-to-back defeats to Luis Ortiz and Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
There were also wins for welterweight contender Mike Alvarado, who delivered a brutal knockout victory over Sidney Siqueira, and feared Ukrainian light-heavyweight Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
Unbeaten Gvodzdyk stopped Craig Baker in the sixth stanza to move closer to a potential world title shot.
