Heavyweight world-champion Wladimir Klitschko has spoken after a heated exchange with Tyson Fury at the press-conference for their October fight

Wladimir Klitschko says he will make Tyson Fury a better person with the same 'therapy' he dealt fellow Brit David Haye.

The world heavyweight champion was on the receiving end of some Fury verbals at the press conference to announce their October 24 showdown in Dusseldorf.

Klitschko was told he had the charisma of a pair of his opponent's underpants and was boring, but refused to respond and instead believes Fury is going the same way as Haye did four years ago.

I am really proud of my performance and proud of David , that he became a better person. And I think with Tyson it is going to be pretty much the same therapy

Haye belittled Klitschko prior to and throughout the build-up to their fight in 2011 but was left with a tarnished reputation after blaming an injured toe for a unanimous points defeat in Hamburg.

Klitschko told Sky Sports News HQ: "Tyson Fury is 26 and he says things and does things that he is going to regret.

"But I see it as therapy. David Haye was one of them and I told people I was going to change David Haye into a better person after the defeat - and that is exactly what happened.

Tyson Fury let loose at the press conference for his world title fight against Wladimir Klitschko, describing the world number one heavyweight as boring

"I am really proud of my performance and proud of David, that he became a better person.

"And I think with Tyson it is going to be pretty much the same therapy.

"You can call me as a therapist and I think it's going to work well. I also think this fight is going to be tremendously challenging for me."

Haye led the way when it came to goading the Klitschkos, sporting the infamous severed-head t-shirt as he sought fights with Wladimir and his elder brother Vitali.

And when the fight was confirmed Haye refused to shake Wladimir's 'magic hand' whenever they met and then kept him and 40,000 fans waiting when it came to his ringwalk, only to lose overwhelmingly.
