David Haye 'willing to fight' Tyson Fury

David Haye says Tyson Fury has a puncher's chance of beating Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday night but expects the Ukrainian to retain his world titles.

Haye - who on Tuesday confirmed he is making a comeback to boxing after a three-and-a-half-year absence - was beaten by Klitschko on points in 2011 and subsequently called off fights against Fury on two occasions.

Haye says Fury's sheer size and power could trouble the heavyweight champion, but gives the Mancunian no more than a one in 20 chance of causing an upset in Germany.

"I'm not sure if I would give Fury any advice. We're not the best of buddies," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"But the way I see it, you've got to look at someone's prior record. This is Tyson Fury's first fight at genuine world level, world class. The best opponent he has on his record until now is Dereck Chisora.

"And look at that fight - how did that fight go? One, it was a points decision. The other, it was a bit of a boring fight for 11 rounds and then Chisora sort of gave up.

"When I fought Chisora I knocked him out in five rounds. That's how you are supposed to deal with a Chisora-like opponent.

"I don't believe, fighting someone as good as Wladimir Klitschko, that is good enough preparation."

Asked for his prediction, Haye said: "I think he [Fury] will fall short. Then again, on the flip side, he's a big guy, 6'9" and he's like, 18 stone and he can throw big punches. In boxing anything can happen.

"I give him a one in 20 shot. It would be one of the biggest upsets."

Haye admitted, however, that should Fury upset Klitschko, he will have to face his fellow-Brit.

Tyson Fury appears to have the edge over Wladimir Klitschko in both height and reach.

"If Tyson Fury somehow manages to pry all those titles from Wladimir Klitschko, he's the man to beat. He's now No 1 on the planet. I want to be No 1. I will have to go through him. If he doesn't win that fight then he's just a guy who talks a lot and hasn't beaten anybody.

"I don't think he would be the best representation for boxing, being the heavyweight champion of the world, with some of the crazy stuff he's been saying.

"But it takes a special person to beat Wladimir Klitschko, and I personally don't believe Tyson Fury is that guy."
