Kell Brook has agreed to face mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier ahead of his potential super-fight with Amir Khan.

The IBF world welterweight champion will make the third defence of his crown against Canada's Bizier (25-2-KO17), who stopped Fredrick Lawson in 10 rounds in a title eliminator in November.

Brook said via social media: "I need to do some damage!"

The Sheffield fighter (35-0-KO24) had been due to face dangerous Argentine Diego Chaves in October, only to suffer a rib injury during sparring that forced him to pull out.

Bizier's two defeats both came at the hands of Jo Jo Dan - the Canada-based Romanian who Brook blasted away in four rounds in his first (and also mandatory) defence.

Brook was last in action on May 30, 2015, stopping Frankie Gavin inside six rounds. He spent the majority of the rest of 2015 trading challenges, insults and threats with long-time rival Khan, who fought just once in the calendar year.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has already confirmed his interest in staging Brook v Khan at Wembley in May or June, but with the IBF showing no signs of relaxing the mandatory challenger policies that saw them strip Tyson Fury, Brook must first get past Bizier.
