David Haye is backing Tyson Fury to do an even better job on Wladimir Klitschko in the rematch.
The former WBA world champion, who made a triumphant return to the ring last month following a 42-month break, believes Fury's defeat of Klitschko in Germany has changed the entire heavyweight landscape.
"The Klitschko era is over," he was quoted saying on BoxingScene.com
"Wladimir didn't have the slightest sense of achievement in the first fight.
"I can even see the second time being even worse for him. But in the heavyweight division, anything can happen - and we just saw that."
Fury claims he is not sure he will fight again and is waiting to find out when and where the contracted rematch with Klitschko will take place.
He has already ruled out a future clash with Haye - ranked No 9 by the WBA - because the Londoner twice pulled out of proposed fights between the pair due to injury.
But Haye, who held the WBA strap between 2009 and 2011, took a dig at the new world champion, claiming he will not fight the current WBC boss Deontay Wilder, either.
"He already gave up the IBF title."
"If he gives up more titles, he might end up standing there empty-handed. He has also said he is not fighting against Wilder because he's just a basketball player.
"It's a bit surprising that the new world champion is announcing that he will not compete against one of the two most dangerous heavyweight in the world.
"That says a lot about him as a man."
