Lee Selby is looking forward to being part of another Sky Sports Box Office night

Lee Selby has warned Eric Hunter he will be in a 'spiteful' and 'hurtful' mood when they meet at The O2 next month.

The IBF world featherweight champion is facing his mandatory challenger before Anthony Joshua takes on Charles Martin, live on Sky Sports Box Office, on April 9.

Lee Selby will defend his world title on the undercard of Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua

Selby (22-1-KO8) will make his first title defence on these shores and even though Hunter (21-3-KO11) has questioned his "mental strength" the Welshman warned 'The Outlaw' he will be hunting him down.

I am going to take the fight to him. You are going to see spiteful punches and hurtful shots, so Hunter better be ready

"He's a good fighter but he's been disqualified a couple of times so he's obviously a bit dirty and a rough fighter," Selby told Sky Sports.

"He looks decent and it will be a good fight, but I am more than ready for this one.

"I will put on a devastating and clinical performance. I am going to take the fight to him. You are going to see spiteful punches and hurtful shots, so Hunter better be ready.

"I will show why I am the IBF world champion and show people what I can do."

Selby won the world title on the same bill as Joshua last May, when he put on a masterclass to take the IBF belt away from Evgeny Gradovich.

His first defence saw him travel to Arizona, in October, to out-point the experienced three-weight world champion, Fernando Montiel.

But back on home soil in front of his own fans, the 'Welsh Mayweather' believes American Hunter has no idea what he's in for.

"It is going to be amazing atmosphere, something he has never seen before," he said.

"This will be my fourth time fighting at the O2 and I've shared the headlines with Anthony Joshua a few times, including back in Cardiff, so it's going to be great.

"AJ's got that crossover appeal so brings all sorts of fans in, not just boxing fans, so they will get to see me as well.

"It's always nice to fight in front of your home fans so it will be great to have my second defence in front of my own people.

"Last time I went away to America, so it was hard for them to watch. It was on in the early hours of the morning but this time they will get to see me and that is important. I will be at my best."
