Shannon Briggs has fuelled speculation he could be David Haye's next opponent after releasing a series of tweets stating he is on his way to Great Britain.

Haye, who ended a three-and-a-half year hiatus from the sport with a comprehensive first-round knockout of Mark de Mori at The O2 in January, will return to the ring on May 21 against an as-yet unnamed opponent.

American heavyweight Malik Scott (38-2-1-KO13) recently claimed in an interview with Esnewsreporting.com that he or Briggs would be Haye's next challenger.

Earlier this week, Briggs took to Twitter to throw down a challenge to Haye (27-2-KO25) and the 44-year-old once again took to social media on Friday to announce he is travelling to the UK.

"#ItsTheChamp I'm on my way #LETSGOCHAMP #LETSGOCHAMP #LETSGOCHAMP @ Great Britain," Briggs tweeted.

Briggs (59-6-1-KO52) has won eight on the trot - including six first-round stoppages - since losing a unanimous decision to Vitali Klitschko in 2010.
