Sky Sports' Johnny Nelson catches up with Kell Brook as he prepares for his IBF welterweight title fight against Kevin Bizier later this month

Kell Brook has taken another swipe at bitter rival Amir Khan, saying his decision to fight Saul Alvarez "doesn't make sense".

The IBF world welterweight champion is preparing for his mandatory defence against Kevin Bizier on March 26, live on Sky Sports 1.

Brook (35-0-KO24) is itching to get back in the ring for the first time in 10 months and is ready to let out his Khan frustrations in front of a packed Sheffield Arena.

But he was happy to have one final dig at his fellow British star before focusing fully on challenger Bizier (25-2-KO17).

It doesn't make sense. He said he was a welterweight and he wanted to win a world title and I am a world champion, we're both from Britain, so we could have got it on

"I was upset but it was going on for that long," he told Sky Sports when asked about the failed attempts to make the Khan fight.

"It was close to happening before, but this time, I thought it was going to happen. Then he decided to step up to middleweight and fight Canelo.

"It doesn't make sense. He said he was a welterweight and he wanted to win a world title... I am a world champion, we're both from Britain so we could have got it on."

Brook will be making his third defence since seizing the title from Shawn Porter in August 2014 and will not be taking challenger Bizier lightly.

The Canadian beat Fredrick Lawson in an eliminator in November and Brook is expecting a tough night.

"Everybody's writing off this Bizier but I think he's been training like an animal and anyone who is challenging for a world title, they are coming to bring it," said Brook.

"Expect fireworks. I've trained hard for a long time, so I am going to do my stuff, maybe chuck in some bombs!"
