Former world heavyweight champion Haye (27-2-KO25) returned to action in January by stopping Mark de Mori and is set to face Gjergjaj (29-0-KO21) at The O2 on May 21.
Haye's former trainer Adam Booth famously used a pair of platform shoes ahead of his 2009 world title victory over Nikolay Valuev - and McGuigan has taken up the mantle.
