David Price has mischievously suggested he will somehow pay tribute to Liverpool despite his 'You’ll Never Walk Alone' song being banned for his Goodison Park fight.
Price steps back into the ring for the first time since last summer against Jakov Gospic representing the red half of his home city when he boxes on Tony Bellew's undercard at Everton's stadium on Sunday, live on Sky Sports.
His usual entrance music, the iconic Gerry & The Pacemakers song used by Liverpool among other football teams, will not be allowed to accompany him at the home of their cross-city rivals Everton.
"I've used that music for the majority of my career so it's a matter of me sticking to my roots," Price exclusively told Sky Sports.
"We've been having arguments about it over the past few weeks. One of Everton's press officers has contacted Eddie Hearn and said, 'He can't come in to that song!' I laughed it off but I didn't know he was serious!
"If it is an issue, then it won't be a problem for me. It's just a ring entrance song. I'll treat it like an away game - the team don't play it at away games.
"I'll wear my colours, I'll be in red. But I'll subtly get something in for the Liverpool fans!"

Price has insisted that the red and blue halves of Liverpool will come together at the weekend to support the city's fighters, regardless of football allegiance.
Everton fan Bellew headlines against Ilunga Makabu for the vacant WBC cruiserweight title and Price wants all football supporters to back the home fighter.
He said: "For Bellew's sake, I hope so. He's fighting for the world title and, in my experience, he's not a bitter Evertonian! He's pretty reasonable, as far as Evertonians go! I'd like to see the crowd give Tony every opportunity.
"I always get well-wishes from Everton fans. Some tell me, 'We come to your fights but hate your entrance music!' But even though I'm a Red they want me to win.
"Most families in the city have Reds and Blues - I've got Evertonians in my house! I'd like to think the entire city will get behind each other."
