Michele di Rocco hopes to thrive off the support for Ricky Burns

Michele Di Rocco is adamant he can silence Ricky Burns' boisterous Glasgow support on Saturday night and become world champion.

Live Fight Night

The Italian (40-1-1-KO18) arrived in Glasgow earlier this week determined to claim the vacant WBA super-lightweight crown and prevent Burns (36-5-1-KO13) from becoming a three-weight world champion.

The 34-year-old Di Rocco - known simply as 'The King' - told Sky Sports: "All the sacrifice of my life would have a value with a world title. Ricky has had some world title experience but in the last two fights, he lost so I am the more fresh and ready.

"It will be very exciting to hear 13,000 people screaming the name of Ricky Burns but when I enter the arena, I will be imagining they are screaming my name.

"I'm not worried about inactivity because I had a lot of sparring and trained for over a month so I'm not worried about that.

"Respect is the first thing in boxing. Talk is zero. The talking is done in the ring. Ricky Burns has been champion and I've never been one. Saturday night, I want to be the new WBA world champion."
