Abel Sanchez says he would understand if Chris Eubank Jr is having second thoughts about facing Gennady Golovkin.
Eubank Jr and his influential father Chris Eubank are still locked in negotiations over the finer details of a deal to face WBA Super, WBC and IBF middleweight champion Golovkin, who claims his side of the contract is all agreed.
The Kazakh (35-0-KO32) mockingly suggested the Brighton man had lost his pen and Sanchez, who has trained Golovkin since 2010, believes that harsh reality is dawning on Eubank Jr.
He told World Boxing News: "I know that [promoter] Tom Loeffler and [managers] the Hermann Brothers are working hard on it, but when it comes to Golovkin's opponents, the signing of the contract is always scary for them.
"It means sleepless nights just thinking about the fight and I'm sure the same thing is happening to Chris Eubank Jr. You can't force anyone to agree and sign to step in the ring with the middleweight champion of the world."
Eubank Jr's rival, WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders, is another to have been linked with a lucrative bout against Golovkin.
Sanchez added: "Saunders is a talker we know that, but he has no intentions of making himself available to fight Gennady Golovkin. There are many ways to say you don't want a fight and Saunders is showing all of those ways so far.
"Our job is just to keep GGG busy, fighting a minimum of three fights a year and hopefully, in the end we can make that fight."
Golovkin's team have already stipulated that they will soon turn their attentions to other options for a September bout should the Eubank Jr talks continue to stall.
