Kell Brook revealed he fears Saturday's meeting with Gennady Golovkin but is sure the feeling will help him produce his best.

'The Special One' is attempting to dethrone WBA Super, WBC and IBF world middleweight champion Golovkin having leapt up from welterweight but as the bright lights of The O2 warm up, Brook delivered a defiant message at the final press conference.

After hearing Golovkin (35-0-KO32) insist he is "not scared" of the occasion, Brook (36-0-KO25) said: "There is fear in me over this fight but that's going to make me so sharp on the night. Having that fear is healthy. It's good for me to be sharp and switched on throughout the fight.

"The talking is over. The training is over. It's coming down to two champions, two top fighters fighting each other on Saturday night and I can't wait to shock the world."

Much has been made of IBF world welterweight champion Brook stepping up two weight divisions, but the Sheffield star and his trainer Dominic Ingle have dismissed the notion he is not a natural at 160lbs.

I've probably been 60%-70% in my career and we're going to see 100% on Saturday.

Brook said: "I'm in great shape. I pushed myself through every training session and I'm passionate about doing something no British fighter's have done. I believe it will be the biggest win ever.

"I think I've got the skills. Everyone is going on that I'm a small guy coming up but that's not the case. I've never trained like I've trained for this with the calories and the fuel. I've been a joy to train and have been able to dig in and go past what I've done before.

Dominic Ingle on the change in Kell Brook

"Coming into this fight, I'm healthy and strong. I believe it's written and I really do believe this is my time.

"We aren't taking ridiculous amounts of weight off to make 147lbs. I've probably been 60-70 per cent in my career and we're going to see 100 per cent on Saturday."
