Wladimir Klitschko shrugged off Tyson Fury's failure to attend a London press conference and vowed to take revenge on 'Mr Invisible' when the pair meet on October 29.

Fury (25-0-KO18) seized the WBA Super, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles from Klitschko (64-4-KO53) and after protracted negotiations, the rematch will take place in Manchester.

Ukraine's 'Dr Steelhammer', who prior to the clash with Fury in November 2015 had been unbeaten since early 2004, was in philosophical mood over the champion's failure to attend the media day and chose instead to focus on stressing his desire to regain his crowns.

Klitschko said: "This is a beautiful day in London and it's interesting. I'm observing and enjoying the situation as a challenger. When you're a challenger, sometimes maybe people think you're not the youngest and it's not really your time.

Tyson Fury's rematch with Wladimir Klitschko has been confirmed

"I used to sit in the middle as champion and now I'm almost on the edge falling off the table. What happened last November was a great experience from me. When one door shuts, another opens. Something came out of me and I have tremendous motivation. I'm obsessed with the goal of getting the titles back.

"In a certain way, there's de ja vu from when David Haye didn't show up. He had something that was new for me. I had to wait for him to get in the ring. I had to wait 10 minutes so I understand the situation.

Even if invisible Fury is here or he's not, even if it doesn't happen in October, I'll wait.

"Fury isn't here right now or maybe he's invisible. Eventually, I hope we meet in the ring. In sport, everything is happening. Good, and bad things like injuries, postponements. It's okay, I can wait. I want to thank my fans for being patient.

"It's not a rematch. It's revenge. I'm really looking forward to it. This time we want to show that the fight is going to come up and it's for real.

"Even if invisible Fury is here or he's not, even if it doesn't happen in October, I'll wait. Time will run out for the champion because he needs to defend his titles.

"It's going to happen in Manchester, the backyard of Tyson Fury and I love it because I always fight better elsewhere than at home."

Fury's manager Mick Hennessy stated that the reason for Fury's absence was traffic problems and a broken down car.
