Amir Khan is still hopeful of facing Floyd Mayweather, who he revealed is rumoured to be training for a dramatic comeback.
Khan (31-4-KO19) has long pursued a meeting with Mayweather (49-0-KO26) but when 'Money' officially retired in September 2015, the Olympic silver medallist was forced to look elsewhere.
That search bypassed IBF world welterweight king Kell Brook and led to then-WBC world middleweight champion Saul Alvarez, who dispatched the Bolton fighter with a brutal sixth-round knockout - but Khan is still targeting Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Khan, who remains mandatory challenger for Danny Garcia's WBC welterweight title, told World Boxing News: "I hear rumours Floyd is back in training.
"I still believe a fight between me and him would be very exciting and a massive event, and even though I lost against Canelo, there were a lot of positives to take away from that fight.
"The way I fought the first four or five rounds has given me the confidence to beat anyone out there.
"Manny and his team know where I am though as we get so close last time before they disappeared. I would be gutted if I don't fight Pacquiao before he retires."

Both Khan and Mayweather have been linked to an outlandish cross-sport clash with Ireland's MMA superstar Conor McGregor, and Khan said of the idea: "I don't really know about moving to MMA.
"I mean, if the fight comes up I would consider it as Conor is an unbelievable fighter. I'd love to test him in the boxing ring first as MMA will take a long time to get used to.
"Just the thought of getting the boxing world and MMA world together makes we want to do it even more as it will be massive!"
