Lenny Daws to take on Anthony Yigit for European title

London super-lightweight Lenny Daws will face Anthony Yigit for the EBU European title in Rome on September 28.
Daws (30-4-2-KO11) was left disappointed in his last bout when he fought Ruben Nieto for the same belt and was disqualified for what was ruled an intentional headbutt.
Nieto has since vacated the title and while Daws remains frustrated by the defeat to the Spaniard, is relishing his next chance against Sweden's Yigit (18-0-1-KO7).
The 37-year-old said: "It's fantastic that I'm going straight in for a European title shot again, but I'm disappointed that it won't be Nieto in front of me on the night as I wanted to prove fair and square that I had him beat last time.
"Everyone could see I was beating him and on course to win, the judges had me ahead so why would I need to headbutt him? The referee got it completely wrong, but now it's my golden opportunity,
"I've seen Yigit, he's still up-and-coming and hasn't got the experience that I have and that will be a key factor in this fight.
"I can't wait for it, I firmly believe that it's going to be third time lucky for me this time and I'll be finally crowed champion of Europe."
Daws is a former two-time British champion.
