British youngster Conor Benn is navigating his way up a steep learning curve in style, says his manager Charlie Sims.
After only a handful of amateur fights, Benn turned professional in April at the age of 19. On a high-pressure debut, 'The Destroyer' ignited The O2 crowd with a first-round stoppage of Ivailo Boyanov before dancing in the ring with his legendary father Nigel Benn.
Things were not so easy for Benn on his second assignment when he was taken the distance by Luke Keleher but his two clinical stoppage victories since suggest he's picking things up quickly - despite the glare of media attention and the pressure of big-money sponsorship deals.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports following Benn's win over Joe Ducker on Saturday night, manager Sims said of Benn's fledgling career: "For him, it's gone so quick. He says that his life has just changed dramatically from when he came here.
"He was living up in Manchester for a bit and then he made the move down here so recently his whole life has changed a lot.
"For a 19-year-old, I think he's dealt with it as best he could. He's learning every day and he's learning to enjoy it.
"He loves going out and seeing the crowds and he loves putting on a show and entertaining the crowd. I think that's what we're going to see from Conor in his career."
Benn continues his progress at the end of this month; he fights on the undercard of Anthony Crolla v Jorge Linares in Manchester on September 24.
