Kid Galahad wants to fight double Olympic gold medallist Guillermo Rigondeaux in a battle of undefeated super-bantamweights on the undercard of the Tyson Fury-Wladimir Klitschko rematch.
Galahad extended his unblemished record to 20-0-KO11 when he beat Emiliano Salvini by stoppage inside four rounds as part of the build-up to Gennady Golovkin's win over Kell Brook earlier this month.
The 35-year-old Rigondeaux, the WBA 'Super' and WBO super-bantamweight world champion, is unbeaten in his 17 fights since his professional debut in 2009, which came after a superb amateur career in which he won Olympic gold medals at the 2000 and 2004 games.
"While other fighters and world champions avoid Rigondeaux, I want him," Galahad told World Boxing News.
"If you're a fighter you should want to beat the best to become the best. Rigondeaux's the No 1 in the super-bantamweight division and is the man to beat, he's the main man and I'm in boxing to be recognised as the best.
"How do I beat him? Father time catches up with everyone, he's getting on a bit now and I have youth and desire on my side. Listen, he's a fantastic boxer there's no denying that, but as you get older the timing and speed begins to slow down.
"Ricky Hatton against Kostya Tszyu is a prime example. At heavyweight you can get away with it, but at the lower weights you can't, you need to be on the ball."
