Tommy Langford to face Sam Sheedy after Chris Eubank Jr withdrawal

Tommy Langford will face Sam Sheedy for the vacant British middleweight title following Chris Eubank Jr's decision to vacate.
Eubank Jr (23-1-KO18) was due to defend the title against Langford (17-0-KO6) on October 22 but withdrew citing injury and will be replaced by Sheffield southpaw Sheedy (17-1-KO4).
Sheedy's trainer Glyn Rhodes told The Star: "It is a fantastic chance for Sam. Tommy beat Lewis Taylor but Lewis did well against him and I reckon that this will now be a 50-50 contest.
"Tommy is a stand-up, hands-high boxer, orthodox who now finds himself up against a slippery southpaw. It will be a great birthday present when we win!"
Sheedy himself added via his social media account: "Very pleased to announce I'm fighting for not just any title, not just any belt, but the prestigious Lord Lonsdale belt the British title; a belt every British fighter strives for.
"Excited is an understatement."
Sheedy's sole career defeat came in the summer of 2015, when he suffered a split decision defeat to Navid Mansouri with the English super-welterweight belt on the line.
