Nathan Cleverly expects to face Juergen Braehmer in an immediate rematch after taking the German's WBA light-heavyweight title in a stoppage win last month.
The Welshman became a two-time world champion when Braehmer retired with an elbow injury after the end of the sixth round.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has previously suggested that a rematch will be 'no problem', although the details are yet to be agreed, and Cleverly believes he will battle Braehmer again in the first defence of his title.
Cleverly exclusively told Sky Sports: "Rematch obligations - that is the next fight for me. Back in with Braehmer, just a matter of setting a date and venue.
"The fight will happen. I think he will definitely come back for a rematch. He'll be gunning for revenge and will want his title back before hanging up his gloves.
"One last shot he will go for it, it's too big a fight for him to turn down."
All eyes were on Cleverly's weight division at the weekend as Andre Ward claimed the WBA 'super', WBO and IBF titles after a close points win over Sergey Kovalev.
Cleverly is glad to be part of a star-filled division that also includes Jean Pascal and remains willing to fight any of his rivals in the future.
"You never know, somewhere down the line I may meet the path of Kovalev or Ward, but right now I'm focused on Braehmer," said the 29-year-old, who lost his WBO belt in a stoppage defeat to Kovalev in 2013.
"Jean Pascal, I haven't actually thought about that fight, because of my ranking climbing in the boxing world. I've only had Braehmer on my mind. I'm focused on the rematch.
"All of these fringe contenders, any can happen in future. Get the rematch done, then probably get a voluntary defence and any of the contenders I will face - like Pascal.
"It's great be back at the top of my game as a world champion. I'm back now and it's a brilliant place to be. I hope this journey continues for many years to come."
