Johnny Nelson wants to see Kid Galahad v Scott Quigg and Kell Brook v Amir Khan in 2017

Johnny Nelson

We have seen some blockbusters in 2016 but we have asked our experts to pick out their three dream fights for the new year.

Johnny Nelson is side-stepping the heavyweight scene that has dominated the last 12 months, hoping to see his Sheffield friends in stunning showdowns that we all want to see...

Callum Smith and George Groves discuss the possibility of fighting each other

It's a good tester for Callum Smith. I know he's waiting for a crack at the world title. There's been a bit of back and forth, with George's team not really interested, whereas Callum's team are not really interested, because they have bigger fish to fry. I just think it would be an intriguing clash, just to see where both fighters are at this moment in time.

Scott Quigg has obviously come back at featherweight, he's obviously chasing big things, but domestically I think it's something that needs to be cleared up in regards to the rumours that have gone around. It sorts any foolishness out, once and for all, and puts people in the pecking order fight wise. For me, that is one fight that I would love to see.

Adam Smith and Johnny Nelson agree that a clash between long-term rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook would have all the ingredients for a classic fight

These two fighters, they have been dancing a dance, but have missed each other. Still the talk is there, but again nothing is sorted out and the worry is that this fight may just drift away again for one reason or another. It's been going on for years and we don't want it to be the case where one is past their best, so we don't see the best of them. This is the fight that both fighters need, that makes the most amount of sense.
