Over the past 12 months, British boxing has continued to flourish, with champions holding world titles in a variety of weight divisions.

Up at heavyweight, Joshua started his impressive reign, while super-flyweight Kal Yafai became Britain's newest title holder this month. 

Mayweather may have said farewell to the sport, but Andre Ward, Roman Gonzalez and Gennady Golovkin are all jostling for the right to be known as the pound-for-pound No 1.

The Rio Olympic Games showcased a number of exciting young talents, while the final bell chimed for the legendary Muhammad Ali, who received a fitting send off at his funeral.
