Peter Fury is set to miss his son Hughie fight Joseph Parker for the WBO heavyweight title after being denied a New Zealand visa.

The bout is scheduled to take place at the Vector Arena in Auckland on May 6 and Parker's promoters Duco Events have said that it will still go ahead as planned.

Fury had applied for a visa using the "special direction" exemption but Immigration New Zealand confirmed in a statement that they had declined his entry.

The tweet said: "The WBO Heavyweight Title fight between Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury is still going ahead as planned."
